Washing
I love this product. As I like the feel of new fabric I don't usually pre wash before I use them but I do like to wash a finished quilt. The quilt with the snake fabric border is finished (binding as well) so into the washing machine with six of these Colour Catcher sheets.
They have done their job picking up any dye in the water. I can't see any colour emigration so good job colour catcher.

It's a lovely autumn day, great drying weather. I really like the look of a quilt once it's been washed.
Maybe I've got time to wash an other!

Backing Fabrics
I could not make up my mind which colour was best the dirty pink or the cigar brown. In the end I bought a length of both and strip pieced the two together. My Sidmouth Quilt is now ready to go to the quilters.
Does this mean I am free to start something new or should I be good and look in the cupboard for something to finish? Sue

Summer Sewing
This ugly (in a good way) fabric has been at the shop for a while now. Finally found the right pinks to go with it.
Some of the pinks I begged, borrowed and stole.
| not a good colour representation |
| way to yellow |
Now the top is finished, backing needs to be chosen then off to the quilter. Even though its been so hot in Melbourne this summer I have managed to start several new projects. So far this is the only one that's near to complete which is odd because normally I prefer hand sewing but I must say I have enjoyed sewing this one together on the machine. Can't believe I just said that!
